it's good to have an end to journey towards, but it is the journey that matters, in the end ....

work and weekend

Its funny, I have started knowing people in office, generally chatting etc and started having fun. (However it is still time before I start cracking my PJs. People here don't laugh at my PJs at all - infact they don't understand) and I am generally lost during the weekends as to what to do! Infact the work is more during the weekends laundry, dishes, driving etc but somehow I still look forward to a weekend....
i ate 2 banana bread (that had chocochip and walnut too) and a choc frosted doughnut and a biryani (frozen food from mayuri) since morning and now I feel I have become a doughnut myself :(. i think i will goto the gym too in the weekend. Pending for a long time.

anyways talked to saurabh for a very long time. He is into dabol project for reviving Enron and he also attended a seminar for infrastructure development that had all the national and international (US and china) bigwigs.
He was discussing all the models - how highways are constructed and how cities should be planned around it etc and how they do it in China and US and how China's model is the best. It feels great to think on those issues sometime. Things around us we take so much for granted but for people who plan it it must be a huge task.
He is also getting some guy funded by NPC (National Planning Commission and NTPC) who he seemed to be very impressed with. This guy is an NRI who returned to india and developed a low cost model for in-home production of electricity. The capital cost of such a power plant is 2000 rupees and basically the raw products are cow dung etc. The thruput is good. This he has implemented in a village and now the state of the village is that it supplies electricity to the board.
Infact saurabh talked to a bigwig in the planning commission about it and he said that he still optimistic about India because of guys like this NRI.
Man I love Saurabh's job a lot. No wonder he is always so excited about it all the time. Well my job is not bad too but it is definitely very different.
