sometimes i feel

having a public blog is not a good idea ..i need my privacy man!...but well who cares ....

Well actually having a private blog pretty much takes all the fun/advanatages of a blog away from it. I won't even categorize it as a blog if asked to do so.
The reasons:

1. Blogs are generally meant to be a 2 way communication channel between the author of the blog post and its readers. This is totally broken down in a private blog kind of a scenario. A public blog helps your views/thoughts/rants reach out to people that share the same point of view or even contrsting point of view; and hence enhance your learning/feedback on a particular topic. BTW have you heard of Microsoft's 2 Way RSS - http://msdn.microsoft.com/xml/rss/sse/
2. One might argue that keeping a personal blog private is a good idea. I even contest that. There are so many good blogs that are written by mothers/wifes/husbands and that are read by hundreds of readers. The 2 way communication is really very productive there.

Surely you need some thinkinf while writing what you think should be posted on a public media. But in case you still want your bit of privacy, I guess the feature that is available in MSN Spaces is pretty great (don't know if a similar thing exists in Blogspot too). MSN Spaces allows you to resstrict the viewing of your blog to certain people. You need to decide (based on Passport IDs) who all can view your space.
